La Dolce Vita - Roman Neighborhoods

This enchanting walking tour will demonstrate the heart of Roman culture - both past and present. We will explore the historic neighborhoods of Trastevere, the Jewish Ghetto, the Tiber Island and Campo de' Fiori.

In Trastevere, we will stroll through the mystical narrow backstreets and visit Rome's oldest church, Santa Maria in Trastevere, with its imposing mosaics by Piero Cavallini.

Crossing the Tiber Island, now home to one of Rome's most famous hospitals, we will enter the ancient Jewish Ghetto. Passing the Synagogue along the Tiber, we will meander through the cobbled streets and enjoy the sites of Teatro Marcello and the ruins of Octavia Portico. We will also view the obscure fountain of the Turtles.

A short walk from here is the Campo de' Fiori, Rome's lively open-air market. We will view the Piazza Farnese with its beautiful fountains and Michelangelo's magnificent palace. We will roam the colorful alleys which are lined with antique stores, sidewalk cafes, and artisan workshops.

This tour will truly bring to life Rome's past and present.
